Design and planning
The existing house consists of a reception, dining and kitchen areas on the ground floor with 2no. bedrooms on the first floor that untypically steps back from the line of the ground floor footprint.
We propose to sympathetically extend the property on the first floor over the ground floor kitchen area to create an additional bedroom; associated internal alterations will improve the standards of accommodation creating a functional family dwelling. The volume added is sub-ordinate to the original house with a pitched roof that follows the line and geometry of the existing high level pitched roof.
Our proposals are in-keeping with the character of the host building and of the terrace, do not affect the amenity of the adjacent properties and we do not propose to alter the access around the front of the building or the access to the property in general.
