Walthamstow, Waltham Forest E17 Rear side house extension
Project description | Single storey rear and side extension to create a new kitchen and dinning area.
Design and planning
The existing property is a two storey terraced house with living accommodation on the ground floor and bedrooms on the first floor. At the side and rear there is a garden area which the existing kitchen area opens to through a dated conservatory.
We propose to replace the existing conservatory volume with a new rear extension of the same size and also create a new side extension 3.5m from the rear wall. The design of the next extensions will be contemporary to compliment the brickwork of the existing house and we propose to use painted render as cladding with powder coated aluminium frames for the new doors and windows.
Minimal detailing will add to the contemporary feel and it will compliment the extended kitchen, dining and living areas we look to create; a large sliding door will open up the dining area to the garden.
We believe that the proposed changes will compliment the character of the existing property, do not impact on the amenities of the adjacent properties and create a modern family unit that blends thoughtful modern design with the character of the existing dwelling.
