Design and planning
We applied for and obtained planning approval to substantially extend this single family dwelling at South Woodford IG8 and to create an improved family space that opens up to the rear garden.
The South Woodford IG8 rear house extension is single storey extension with a depth of 6m. deep and a height of 3m. , which is the maximum allowed under the current Permitted Development regulations. Associated internal alterations included the reworking of the existing rear bay window area and the removal of internal walls to create a utility and WC area.
A combination of glazed sliding folding doors and full height fixed glazed allowed access and views to the rear garden while rooflight glazing to the flat roof allowed natural light deep into the floor plan and above the kitchen and dining areas.
