To include the replacement of three timber windows to front and one timber window to rear with heritage uPVC double glazed windows – Orford Road Conservation Area, Waltham Forest in September 2022.
The new planning approval conservation area Waltham Forest E17 was issued by the Waltham Forest planning department.
We have recently obtained full planning approval to replace the existing windows with new windows for a first floor flat fronting Orford Road and within the boundaries of the Orford Road Conservation Area in Waltham Forest.
We proposed the replacement of the existing 2-over-2 Victorian timber framed sash windows with 1-over-1 upvc framed sash windows that match the appearance of the Victorian sash windows in terms of appearance, finish, colour and detailing.
The proposed replacement window product is a class-leading window with woodgrain finishes, industry-leading slim sightlines, putty-effect glass lines, timber-style mechanical joints and our in-house designed run-through sash horns. Every detail has been designed and engineered to closely resemble the features of a period timber window, while continuing to offer all the benefits of modern materials and manufacturing techniques.
1-over-1 sash windows are a common feature along Orford Road and in the vicinity of the application property.
This includes adjacent properties and properties directly opposite the application property. The upvc window frames have been expertly manufactured to match the appearance of timber frames and we do not propose to replace the existing windows with typical upvc frames that would not fit with the property and would not fit with the character of the conservation area.
